Laguna Pediatric Therapy is starting a new summer program for children with special needs! Our goal is to maintain their current physical abilities over the summer while having fun.
Playful Pals is an innovative community playground program, unique in design and purpose. This program is created for children with special needs. What is unique about Playful Pals, is that it allows the whole family, including typically developing siblings to participate. Often siblings of children with special needs are unable to participate in therapy programs and don’t feel included. We hope that by including siblings, that the process will be beneficial for everyone. Playful Pals offers children with special needs the chance to have fun with other kids while their individual needs are acknowledged and respected.
Playful Pals is committed to helping children develop the skills needed to participate fully in their communities and their personal spheres of influence. Our goal is to help maintain their physical abilities, while educating families about the opportunities within their own community. Laguna Pediatric Therapy is committed to be a community resource in pursuit of this endeavor. Each session will be staffed by a physical therapist (one or two depending on group sizes) and volunteers (as available).
Playful Pals will be on specific days, at different parks in the community, for an hour each session. Morning and later afternoon appointments are available. Families will be required to maintain the safety of their children; however the therapist will lead the activities as well as guide, assist and educate on new movement opportunities. In addition, this will allow families to meet other families of children with special needs.
This is a private pay program as follows:
